White Ribbon 5K Race for Research

Our 2nd Annual WHITE RIBBON 5K Race for Research presented by Breath of Hope Kentucky was held on October 28, 2023.

So proud of how hard we all worked to make these results possible! We can’t thank all of you enough for your support of our work and belief in our mission to improve the survival statistics of lung cancer! The communication culture and the way we prevent, diagnosis, and treat lung cancer will only improve with increased awareness that anyone can get lung cancer, expanded early detection options for a wider demographic of patients, and funding increases that are as equally deserving to lung cancer as other cancers and diseases!

This day would not have been possible without all of our amazing sponsors Genentech, Protect Environmental, UK Markey Cancer Center, Lantern Pharma, AstraZeneca US, Justice Dental, The MPM LLC, UK Federal Credit Union, Kentucky Health Collaborative, Dinsmore & Shohl, The Michael Ferlan Family, all our volunteers, Mindy Ickes, who kept our planning committee on track, Bob Baney with RaceRise, DJ Stitz (Tom Djstitz), Bland at Berserker Brew Coffee, Paul Martin Photography and all who came out to support us by walking & running. However, what was most important about this event were the survivors in attendance and the families who have lost loved ones to lung cancer. We remembered, we honored, we celebrated, and we cherished all the feelings this supportive community brings to those who are affected by this disease.

We would like to thank these organizations who have partnered with us or supported us in our efforts to improve the survival statistics of lung cancer
